Fragmented ideas, underdeveloped theories, inexperience…all too negative the descriptions I have for my position in architecture. Desire, need, aspiration, yearning…these are what I focus on as I make a life-altering decision to change my career.
I have taken some classes in architecture here at Florida International University, and I feel that I have much more to grow. As I begin to get experience in the firm I am working in now, and take more classes, I am certain that I will develop my design skills to the level where I can contribute creative, functional, and comprehensive ideas to the field of architecture. It will take much dedication on my part, just as all the commitment I put in finishing my Master’s degree in Education, as well as maintaining a working schedule to provide income. I fully understand, though, that this experience cannot be one of solitude, as I will need to depend on the inspirations derived from the input of those, more experienced people around me.
I hope to develop relationships with colleagues that will allow for mutual
growth, so that my strengths and weaknesses will complement theirs. I truly
look forward to learning what I need to be successful, and I hope and am confident
that I will be surrounded with excellent teachers, classmates, and administrators
that will seek to foster the educational development of eager and willing students,
such as myself.
